What worked for me was to add pumping session: one before going to bed for 30 to 60 mn (while watching tv) to get 1.5 to 4oz, and one session right after the first feeding to get 2 to 4 oz. That way, I was able to increase my production from 10oz (3 pumping sessions) to 20 (5 sessions). And I never pump less than 30mn with a double pump. I wish you all the best.Marie-Baguettehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01149548077358647791noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040459.post-61489210196468527322008-03-12T06:52:00.000-07:002008-03-12T06:52:00.000-07:00You have to order it from New Zealand, but Domperi...You have to order it from New Zealand, but Domperidone works really well. There's a list on bfar.org (my old LC runs this site) where they show you how to get it. It's actually quite easy. It helped my milk but I am a bit dubious on how safe it is. You can read arguements on that site as well as to whether or not you should use it.chrishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07455026458904632093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040459.post-12321267766430742922008-03-08T15:22:00.000-08:002008-03-08T15:22:00.000-08:00I haven't had a period yet, but I've heard of this...I haven't had a period yet, but I've heard of this happening around a period (the yahoo group pump-moms is full of stories like this).

I've tried every supplement under the sun and none of them made any difference, although others swear by them. The easiest one to try is prob fenugreek but you need to take a lot. Other things to try include 'more milk plus' and fennel tea, alfalfa, barley, oats (flapjacks etc. are quite delicious and bad for you and might help, you never know) and you can order some domperidone from www.inhousepharmacy.com if you want to try that. Dom is the only thing that made a diff to me.

Oh and one woman on my breastfeeding issues mailing list (MOBI) swears by metamucil!

kellymom has the long list of possible galactagogues for your perusal.Thaliahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12125639207843989848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040459.post-40404005068384905582008-03-08T03:24:00.000-08:002008-03-08T03:24:00.000-08:00My milk decided to take such a vacation when I got...My milk decided to take such a vacation when I got my period at 4 mos. And continued to walk out for the next 4 months and show up late to work and not call for the next 4 months after that. I had my period every 28 days after that first one, and it played fast and loose with my milk supply, even though we were nursing every 45 minutes to an hour (until the kid rebelled).

There are definitely herbal teas and supplements you can try (including some beers!), which do help to get things started back up. The LLL has literature on this. Good luck!Amandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14999977102528130703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040459.post-77061375230448145852008-03-07T20:39:00.000-08:002008-03-07T20:39:00.000-08:00Did she mean fenugreek tea? Because otherwise it sounds a lot like "just relax" (though I'm with Jen on the hot beverage and infant and toddler combo being less than relaxing). Though I suppose it's getting warm enough for iced tea. At least, it is here. So come visit. Soon. :)Casshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04551097088915179208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040459.post-2937881968035177692008-03-07T19:50:00.000-08:002008-03-07T19:50:00.000-08:00WEll there is tea then there is *tea*. Yeah I can see where "have a cup of tea" and call me in the morning might be a tiny bit annoying. I had the opposite issue... floating along "normally" then wam ready to explode can't containg the sudden 10oz extra baby can't drink that fast for no known reason a 10 min later... back to normalKathynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7040459.post-48959545448497190662008-03-07T18:07:00.000-08:002008-03-07T18:07:00.000-08:00I'm sorry your milk took off without you--hardly s...I'm sorry your milk took off without you--hardly seems fair.

And um, a cup of tea? Yeah, because nothing says "relaxing with a toddler and infant" like a scalding hot beverage...

I hope it comes back soon, and that you are able to get a little bit of rest.
