Night of the Pregnant Dead

I think I may have experienced my first pregnancy symptom: the mind-fuck miscarriage nightmare.

Between getting up to pee three times last night (not a pregnancy symptom, nooooo, just the beginnings of a fun-fun-fun UTI) and sleeping by myself in Jeff's aunt's guest bedroom, crowded full of mad-looking collector baby dolls, I didn't really expect to sleep well. But should I have expected a two-hour nightmare in which I pee out a seven-pound bisque embryo, then try to find it, naked, in a slippery, brown and maze-like sewer system?

I once woke my husband up screaming that there were dead fetuses in the bed. He basically had to restrain me. Sigh. Sorry you're having these nightmares and about the UTI, too. Go get some drugs, it'll be gone within hours.

I love this title....and, while I haven't gotten the nightmares, I get nervous if as many as two hours go by and I haven't checked for spotting.

Sigh. Yes, I'm afraid this is EXACTLY what you should expect. It isn't easy, my friend, especially during these maddeningly slow early days.

But rest assured, you are not alone in your mind-fuckedness.

Ugh- that's awful. Hopefully one of the times you had to pee woke you up from the dream. The two times I was PG, I had weird dreams, not always bad, but weird. Hopefully you'll start having nice weird dreams soon.

Ah yes. I had a recurrent dream where I have birth to a placenta and there was no baby, while the doctor would say "it happens."

I probably shouldn't have told you this story. But yes, welcome to the mindfuck.

Ah, the dreams, the dreams...from miscarriage to murder to kinky sex with random strangers. If I could film my nighttime brain I might win an Oscar or two.
But those miscarriage dreams suck, and I have them probably once a week, which results in me staggering to the bathroom, turning on the blinding light, and checking for signs of blood.
I think it's a combination of hormones and anxiety run rampant. Not to worry, it's normal. Fun Fun Fun.
