Oh, shit

Started new job today. Have six hours, at least, of work to do tonight. They want as many hours as I can give them. I want to give them as many hours as I can so we can pay the mortgage. All fine, all dandy, except that I've forgotten how to concentrate and almost started crying in their snazzy conference room during a demo this afternoon as a result.

Have wand monkey/consult appointment with new RE tomorrow afternoon; that's my one "break" for the week. Helllllllllllp meeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I think it's good that you're making your vagina do some work this week - why should your head have all of the fun?

I hope you don't have to stay up too late.

May your new RE have thin warm wands and may the office be full of smiling helpful staff.

You'll be back in the groove before you know it (I'm predicting by around 9 tonight)...

And InSpring made me laugh with her comment about making your vagina do some work (she's right -- that vagina of yours needs to build some character!). I think you've created a new definition of 'stressful week', when a trip to the RE is a break!

I'll be thinking about you tomorrow -- let us know how it went.

xxoo

Ugh, I am not so lame as to send babydust but would send you caffeine vibes if I thought they would help. Good luck tomorrow and let us know how it goes. If you ever get a chance to post ever again, that is.

Bugs, I know you will kick ass and take names. Make lots of money and be sure to tell us about your new RE when you get the chance.

It's HARD to start a new job. That might not sound helpful, but actually, just recognizing and acknowledging the fact that starting a new job is really difficult and stressful can make you feel better. Getting to know the people, finding your way to the bathroom and the coffee, not to mention learning a new job-- even if you've done something similar before, is hard work! BUT it will get easier every week. Don't worry.

Juggling a job and the RE's office plain sucks, but it's definately better than the alternative which is no job and the RE's office!

Hope the appointment goes well!

GCats is so right. Your job for the first week is just to keep your head above water.

Oh no, I'm the last person who can help you right now, I couldn't even spell conssentration if I tried!

That being said, Bugs, you'll kick ass and take pics of it, no worries. I also suggest singing a duet w wand bfr allowing it to be intimate, may be an ice-breaker.

Hey once you are out of practice you forget certain things. You will be back in the saddle before you know it! It sucks starting a new job. You have to be the new asshole for a while before you settle into your grove. (this coming from the terminally unemployable)
I am thinking of you at the RE's. Good Luck Bugs!
ummm that was supposed to sound supportive and not creepy.

It'll all come back to you before you know it. Good luck with work and the RE both.

So I guess telling you to 'just relax' this week would be highly inappropriate eh?

You were the best person for this job, and you still are. Concentration is highly overrated in my humble opinion.

Hoping the rest of your week finds you feeling great about yourself.

The first week in a new job is always "oh shit!" week.

I hope the wand monkey buys you dinner afterwards.
