They were only able to get four. Two arrested between Sunday and today.

Insurance may not cover it. They didn't tell me that I needed three IUI's before they'd cover IVF. Freaking out.

Oh shit, sweetie.

Four is good. It's not great, no, but it's a pretty good percentage for what you had growing. And all you need is one good embryo, right?

As for the insurance...I really hope you're able to work that out. If you need some lawyerly-sounding ass-kicking letters, please let me know.

Sending lots of love and good fertilization thoughts--let me know if there's anything I can do to help. I'm so sorry this rollercoaster continues.

Oh shit! I hope everything works out with the insurance. . . Thinking of you and hoping all goes well.

I'm completely ignorant on IVF issues, but based on basic maths, four is always better than none.

I can't believe the insurance scam, that is insane. Insurance companies suck.

I continue to send good thoughts your way, and wish all the bad stuff would just go away.

There's a special place in hell for insurance companies.

I'm sending out strong vibes for your four. Wishing you much luck and love.

There is rarely anything more repugnant than HMO's dictating medical protocol.

Thinking of you.

It only takes one good one. I am thinking of you during the tough few days ahead of waiting.....

As if this fertility stuff isn't difficult enough--throw in the insurance company and you've got a major cluster-f*ck.

Try not to get bogged down by the insurance bullshit just now.
Think positive for those 4 - Multiply and divide, multiple and divide.

I am sure it is easier said than done. But you CANNOT underestimate the power of positive thinking.

"do as I say, not as I do." Is the title for this comment.

I think evil is rooted in insurance. They know they hold us by strings. It infuriates me. I really hope it all gets worked out and your four are on their way to being your happy future.

Oh nooooooo. See, my insurance got all the lying and double crossing out of their system before we even started treatment. ...I think.

Four is enough for you not to be cancelled, and I think that must be a good sign. I'll be hoping for you.

Go eat some tomatoes, even if you have to buy them at the store. You've had stressor upon stressor. You deserve some major pampering.

Concentrate on your little four now, the insurance crap is for later. You've had enough stress and, Jeez, every day doesn't have to feel like April Fool's Day, does it?

Like Jen said, four isn't great, but it's not terrible either. Hope they turn out to be damn good ones.

Good luck.

I'm a fine one to talk, I know, but...deep breath, Bugs. One day at a time.

Thinking of you and hoping fiercely that you catch a break soon.

WTF???? OMG, so not what you need right now. Just another thing to worry about. Hey, four eggs could turn into four embryos and that is MORE than enough! Please take care of yourself and keep us posted as soon as you hear anything about the fert rate, etc let us know. I am afraid I shall be refreshing obsessively now.

Oh sweet Bugs, I'm so sorry. Four isn't great, but it's definately enough, especially if all of them fertilize and grow well. I'm crossing my fingers that they do exactly that. I will be thinking of them and of you.

Oh Bugs, I'm so sorry about the crappy insurance company. That sucks that they didn't tell you about the little fucking tiny issue about doing the IUIs first.

Four is good. It's is what you've got and unfortunately you can't change that. But I do hope they're perfect eggs.

While not ideal, four strong eggs could make four strong embies. I'll be thinking very positive thoughts for them.

In the meantime, know that your personal army is gathering - ready to pummel the insurance company with rotten tomatoes. Although it's probably better if you eat the yummy tomatoes before they get rotten, as that's probably more enjoyable. I guess we'll have to find something else to throw at them.

Hang in there Bugs. Insurance companies are evil but they will not win. We will kick their ass for you any day of the week. And twice on Sunday.

Shit. 4 is good though.
I don't know what else to say other than insurance companies suck. suck. suck.
They need to be forking over those bucks.

Oh Bugs- I so know how this stuff makes one freak out.

Insurance companies ARE evil (mine made me do 8 IUIs before "allowing" IVF -wasted 1 1/2 years of my life). But your doc might be able to word things in his reports in such a way as to get some coverage for you. Your
loyalty to him must count for something - also, his office has an obligation to verify coverage prior to the start of treatment, and clearly, that didn't happen.

And I know I've said it before, but it only takes one good embryo. Just one.

Hang in there- we're all thinking of you.

Honey, I never got four embryos in my whole entire life, so to me, four sounds GREAT! And as others have said, you only need one good one.

As for the insurance ho's, look, your doctor's office is responsible for clearing your treatment with the insurance company before you begin, so they also bear some responsibility (unless the insurance company completely neglected to tell the doctor's office, in which case, you should fight it).

On the other hand, are you quite sure that you didn't do that 3rd IUI? Hmmmm? Are you sure? I think your doctor should step in there and help you out, seeing as he has nothing to lose now . . .

I hope this all works itself out. More importantly, I hope you get pregnant, in which case it will hurt a little less to owe the doctor.
